It’s an unusual week here at Podcast Towers as ALL our football teams won something. We try not to gloat for too long, and quickly move on to review the best of the past couple of weeks of culture consumption.
We talk about new albums from Everything But The Girl, Sparks, Jessie Ware and Super 8. The new Blur album has animated vinyl! The Captain gives a hat tip to Wally Salem of The Beautiful Music for kindly sending in samples from that label. The Captain reads Bob Stanley’s book on the birth of popular music, Let’s Do It. El Tele casts an eye over a new book on mental health, Sort Your Head Out, by Sam Delaney.
We have another Downsizing episode, and we sadly say goodbye to Cynthia Weil, and Tony McPhee of the Groundhogs.
